Silvia DeRuvo, M.A.

Fred DeRuvo, M.B.S.

Silvia DeRuvo is a Senior Program Associate in the WestEd Center for Prevention and Early Intervention. As a Special Education Resources Development Specialist, she is currently involved in the development of materials, resources, training and technical assistance for the Least Restrictive Environment Resources Project on improving outcomes for students with disabilities.

Silvia has extensive experience in special education through work in her own classroom and in many of the local middle schools and high schools as a supervisor for special education and secondary single subject interns. As a university and teacher training instructor, Silvia has had many opportunities to support teachers in the instruction and modeling of effective instructional practices that support the needs of diverse learners. Silvia is highly sought as a workshop presenter.
Fred has written a children's book titled, "Hermitland,” with a teaching unit. Fred has also written a number of books in the area of religion

Fred's educational background includes a Bachelor's Degree and Multiple Subjects Clear Credential, along with the CLAD. He taught for ten years in the public school classroom, grades 3 through 6.

Beyond this, Fred was a TouchMath™ trainer for the Western States and has also co-created and presented a workshop titled, Math & Literature: Making the Connection.

Fred has just completed his Masters in Biblical Studies from Tyndale Theological Seminary and has been teaching as an Adjunct Faculty member at a local junior college since the year 2000.
